Leading Social Commerce Site Now Allows Non-Members to Explore, View Content and Browse New Daily "Dealz"
Membership Still Required to Earn Points (PTZ) for Shopping Discounts
SEATTLE, Aug. 10, 2011 -- Lockerz, a social commerce company with more than 45 million unique visitors monthly, has opened up. The site is now open to non-members to explore and view content, including photos and videos. Non-members can also browse the site's new "Dealz" section, featuring thousands of special offers daily on everything from popular fashion brands, to restaurant and sporting events. Customers are still required to join Lockerz in order to earn PTZ, which can be redeemed for shopping discounts.
Lockerz members earn PTZ for nearly everything they do on the site, including logging in, uploading photos, viewing videos and buying merchandise. Featured brands include 7 for All Mankind, Jules Smith, Splendid, Rock & Republic, Nintendo DS, Wii and Xbox 360.
"Lockerz has always been about rewarding members for what they love to do online," said Kathy Savitt, founder and CEO of Lockerz. "We are excited to offer the thousands of non-members who visit Lockerz.com every day an easy way to experience the site and understand the value of Lockerz PTZ."
The Lockerz.com homepage is also completely redesigned, with drop-down menus for Entertainment, Store, Photos (celebrity and public member photos), and My Stuff. Visitors are invited to join, with the option of using one's Facebook or Twitter account information for quick and easy sign-up. Existing members can also sign in using Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, Lockerz announced a partnership with EMI Music, in which videos of top recording artists from their worldwide library are available on Lockerz.com starting today. Anyone can view the videos, but only members will earn PTZ for watching. Videos are live at www.lockerz.com/music and thousands will be added on an ongoing basis.
Lockerz was built from the ground up to serve the needs of Generation Z (ages 13 to 30). As the first generation of "digital natives," this group is disrupting the way consumers discover, share and shop.
